George has all but given up on his sail designs. who knows why, likely the interest in his ducks. with the rare exception, his sail designs we un-godly slow in all but moderate gale conditions.. Think pilgrim is the best boat george ever designed. would like to hear from others on thier impressions of pilgrim. it may well be the best boat.... George buehler designed a variety of boats, intelligently designed boats. during his lifetime he developed the reputation for utilizing simple elegance and ultra strong and dependable vessels. the juna jd is an excellent example of his design genius. the juna design is an improvement on buehler's juno design..
Buehler is the designer for a guy going into alaska with a chainsaw mill and a few tools. his boats get strength though massive scantlings and are devoid of decoration. lfh designed for the leading edge of wooden boat construction as he knew it, and prettied his boats with trailboards and other decorations..
